Hello Everyone. Today I wanna take a moment and talk to you about a very serious problem that is usually covered up without being truly addressed. The problem is depression. Its an issue that plenty of people have. I want to take a moment to take a look at the causes and solutions available, and the truth about medication for it.
Depression comes on for one of three reasons
The first reason is the most commonly sighted but the least common in reality. That cause is a chemical imbalance. People put the chemical imbalance on the top of their list for their problems and look for their pills, and go on about their day. The feeling of depression with the imbalance is much different from the other options. This is not an upset feeling, but a general drained and down feeling. It can lead to a general unhappiness with life overall. This is a very small portion of the crowd though, and the only area that truly needs medication.
The second is the most common. The idea of having a problem in your life that has not been addressed and handled is the most common cause. Its also a very simple problem to solve. The fact is, people will avoid issues in their lives because they feel they are too hard to deal with. So, instead standing up for themselves, making the tough decisions and solving their problems, they choose to take a pill that makes the pain temporarily go away, so they think less about the issues facing them in their lives. If you want to solve depression in this matter, it's simple. What are you thinking about when you are depressed? That is your cause! Change it. Solve it. Make that problem go away. I’m not saying its easy, but needed. Once you solve that problem, the feelings it brings go away. When you are in this mode, you are your own cause for all of your own problems. Do something about it. Simple, time to grow up and face reality.
The third cause is when you are not truly depressed, but use the idea of depression for attention. People will throw themselves into depressed mode because it is a familiar feeling and they know how people will react to them being “down”. Again, this may sound harsh, but a reality check is needed for some people. Get over yourself! If you truly want attention, find a new, positive way of getting it. There are plenty of ways that are productive to get it, and at the same time, you can make a difference in some way.

If so, its time to show the world the strong and productive person you are and do something about it. Leaning on a crutch of depression and pills when they are not truly needed is an excuse to not have to grow up and take control of your life. So stand up today and make a difference in your own life and see how happy you really can become!
